My passion is to help the dyslexic learner by teaching the Orton-Gillingham Method of Language Instruction to students and teachers alike. I believe in the Orton-Gillingham Method because I have seen how well it works to give the dyslexic learner the tools needed to decode written language. I have successfully used the OG Method in private practice tutoring for over 20 years.
Developed by Samuel T. Orton and Anna Gillingham in the early 20th century, this approach to reading instruction is a multisensory, structured, sequential, cumulative approach that has proven effective in remediation for the dyslexic learner. It utilizes all three pathways to learning, visual, auditory, and tactile-kinesthetic.

Traditionally used for one-on-one tutoring intervention for the dyslexic learner, the OG Method has been successfully adapted for broader use in public school. I support this expanded role of OG in the classroom for the benefit of all students.
